Overview
MyTelkomsel is the self-service face of Indonesia's largest mobile operator — balance, plans, top-ups and service management for a user base counted in the millions. The margin for downtime or confusion is zero.
As Mobile App Tech Lead on the project, I helped steer architecture and delivery for the mobile and web apps, working directly alongside McKinsey Digital Lab and Accenture. The stack ran on ReactJS, HapiJS, Redux, Webpack, Gulp and Cordova — a codebase engineered for national scale.

Approach
- 01
Scale as a first-class constraint
Every screen, state container and API contract was designed with millions of concurrent users and high-traffic peak events in mind.
- 02
Cross-team architecture collaboration
Worked hand-in-hand with MDL and Accenture to align the front-end architecture with the operator's platform and analytics teams.
- 03
App and web parity
A single React-based mental model powered both the Cordova app and the web app, reducing divergence and maintenance cost.
03
Delivered
Self-service flows
Balance, plan management and top-ups delivered as fast, reliable journeys.
Mobile & web app
Cross-platform experience via ReactJS and Cordova on a HapiJS-backed API layer.
State architecture
A Redux design that stayed predictable under heavy load and complex feature trees.
